More than half of California residents would support amending the state constitution to outlaw gay marriage, according to a poll published Friday.

It is too early to know for sure if the numbers will hold. I think if the initiative makes it to the ballot, the vote will indeed be very close. However, I cannot understand why people are so anti-marriage equality. Why are straight people so intimidated by gays and lesbians?
