Sure, entitled to an opinion is fine. I am entitled to point out when your opinion is bigoted and not backed by scientific research.

Okay, you say it's a 'waste of time' to give sources to studies that back up your claim, yet you type on for three more posts expanding the premise you expect your opponents to just assume is correct based on your say-so.

Posting anything anti gay on this site is like standing in front of a locomitive engine. Useless. This coordinated gay movement riding on the coattails of the civil rights movement disgusts me. Neg me .. you cannot impregnate me.
A child without a male and female presence in his or her life is put at an unfair disadvantage to children who do have a mom and dad. Again and again statistics show increased delinquency and numerous other problems among children from broken homes. Note broken homes - that can include two loving females, such as an aunt and a mother - but the bottom line is this does not fill the void left by the father's absence.
Boys need male role models in their lives, as much as girls need to have fathers in their lives in order to value and respect themselves. For these girls, it is simply something they often cannot gain from a mother. As children grow, their bodies change. Having a member of the same sex who understands and can explain the subtleties of these changes aside from the obvious is important to help them through this difficult stage in their lives. Additionally, socially, boys and girls face issues with friends and members of the opposite sex with which they need advice on how to best handle these relationships. The age old saying "men are from Mars and women are from Venus" conveys this point - there are simply things men and women do and have always seen and dealt with differently.
This is not arguing one way or the other in favor of gay adoption; it is simply an issue that should be addressed.
Perhaps we need to look at who is really being affected - the children, rather than the bickering between adults because they want and feel they can properly raise kids, or that someone else cannot suitably raise a child. This isn't about being gay or straight, it's about providing role models of both sexes in a developing child's life.

Loving parents are the important thing. This is proven over and over, and the gender of these parents is inconsequential. Having same gender parents is equal to having opposite-gender parents in every measurable way, and significantly better than a single parent of either gender, which is where your regular old sanctified straight marriage has landed better than half of the children in this country. No wonder David, who is a parent and an educator, has not responded to such a blatantly bigoted diatribe full of lies and clothed in a pious love and concern for "the children" You are sickening. May God have pity on any child YOU raise.

Cat, I am also 47...but I'm also gay.
And listen...no one is saying that male AND female role models should not be present in their child's life... To the contrary, I know of several lesbian couples and one gay male couple who are raising children...and EVERY one of them ...ALL the lesbians are including a male Godparent, uncle, or even actual father in an active role in the lives of their children. The male couple have included the woman who was the surrogate mother for their daughter as her mother....
Who are we to question how people choose to raise their families? All the children I spoke of are being raised in loving homes.
Isn't that what we all want?
Where to begin? Your arguments make no sense. They are filled with myth and not backed by the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychiatric Association, the National Education Association, and the National Association of Social Workers. All of these organizations take my side on issues such as marriage equality, adoption of children by same sex couples, etc. Study after study stands on my side. Keep pushing your diatribe if you wish, but neither science nor medicine back you on this at all.
I guess you refuse to look at all the studies. Thats your right. It comes down to this.
It takes a man and a women to produce a child and together they are the parents that should love that child most. That is an unbeatable combination of love and guidance. I don't that that many can really disagree with that. If you do, then you are delusional.
But you refuse to post the sources to which you refer, instead preferring to call someone with a different opinion 'delusional'.
Just because there is a male and female parent in the household, does not guarantee both parents are functional, much less 'unbeatable'.
In my opinion, love and guidance are the 'unbeatable combination' regardless of where it comes from.

People that are against same sex marriage are not "Christians" they're just self centered jerks. Why isn't there an out rage against adultry. That has ruined the meaning of marriage more than all the homosexual weddings could ever do!!
